By the way…
Thursday, August 10th, 2006I am really sorry I haven’t gotten around to making this blog prettier. Every time I look at the default Wordpress theme here I just cringe. I will get around to fixing it up any day now.

RPP friend Colin points out yet another interesting MassArt-sponsored letterpress-related event this weekend: TypeCon 2006: “The Boston T Party”. Co-sponsors of the event are The Society of Typographic Aficionados and Museum of Printing in North Andover, Mass. There are other sponsors of smaller point sizes…
Some interesting letterpress-related stuff going on at the Massachusetts College of Art. An exhibition that started today: For the Love of Letters “30 Years of Letterpress Printing at MassArt”, running until August 19, 2006, with an opening on the 11th.
That’s actually convenient for me, because on the 11th, I’m starting the Letterpress Fundamentals Workshop. I was originally on the wait list, but (I think) I’m in! Very excited about this. I’ve really only learned what I know from books, manuals, and very informally, from other people. It’s also going to be a good chance to get my hands on a press (I believe they have a Vandercook) that is out of my current price and space limitations.
Their catalog mentioned that they have a new book arts studio, but I haven’t been able to find more about it. I also hope to report back on that after the class.
